About My Interest in Psychology

Psychology as a whole really intrigues me, but the branch of psychology that I will be focusing on is sports and exercise psychology. This branch of psychology deals with helping athletes by using psychological principals to achieve their greatest mental health, as well as to improve their athletic performance. It accomplishes these things by allowing people to get a better grasp of how participation in sports, exercise and physical activity affects an individuals psychological development, health and personal well-being through out their lives. This branch is used mainly with helping coaches and professional athletes in their pursuit to improve their performances and increase motivation. About Me

  Hey yall! My name is Jessica Phillips and I am from Dallas, Texas. Well when I leave HSU and go home I go to a little town just south of Dallas called Ovilla. It is a one street light town, that you could drive right through and never even know that you were in it. Now there is one school in Ovilla called Ovilla Christian School and that is where I attended school all 13 years of my education before coming to Hardin-Simmons University. I was always really involved at OCS and to this day I still am. I chose Hardin-Simmons to continue my education because of all of the opportunities it offers, along with the great atmosphere and people here. I also have a twin sister, Kellie, who also decided to continue her education here at HSU too.  My family is all really close to each other.
